Passage: Romans 5:12-21

Key Verse: Romans 5:19 (NKJV)

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.”

Good morning, friends.

There’s a sobering thread that runs through human history, and Paul pulls on it here. It all goes back to one man, Adam, and one choice. In Adam, sin entered the world, and death followed close behind. It didn’t take long for that infection to spread. Every generation since has lived under the weight of it. We all know what it’s like to live in a broken world and carry the ache of it in our own hearts.

But Paul doesn’t leave us in the shadow of Adam. He points us to another Man, Jesus Christ. One act of disobedience brought condemnation to many, but one act of obedience, Christ’s death on the cross, opened the way for many to be made righteous. The contrast couldn’t be clearer. Where Adam’s failure brought death, Jesus’ faithfulness brought life.

This is more than theology; it’s deeply personal. It means your story isn’t bound by your past, your family history, or your worst decisions. It means that no matter how much sin has reigned, grace is greater; it overflows. It meets us in our mess and makes us new. Through Jesus, we are no longer chained to the legacy of Adam; we’re invited into the life of Christ.

Through one man came sin and death, but through One Savior comes grace and life.

Today’s Reflection:

Is there any area of your life where you've been living like you're still under Adam’s shadow? Ask Jesus to speak His better word over that place, and step forward in His grace.

Closing Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for stepping into the wreckage of this fallen world and giving us a way out. Thank You for making righteousness available through Your obedience. Help us to live in the light of Your grace, not in the shadow of sin. Teach us to trust that where sin abounds, Your mercy abounds much more. In Your name we pray, amen.
