Romans 1:18-21
Key Verse: Romans 1:20a NKJV
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made…”
Good morning, friends.
Today, as our nation pauses to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom, Paul’s words call us to reflect on something even more foundational: our awareness of God.
Paul writes that God has made Himself known, not just in Scripture or through prophets, but through the very world around us. The sky that stretches above us, the intricate design of life, the majesty of mountains and oceans, all of it testifies to the Creator. His eternal power and divine nature are not hidden in shadows; they are on display for anyone willing to look.
This means no one can truthfully say, “I never saw Him.” God has left fingerprints on everything He has made. The problem isn’t that He hasn’t revealed Himself, it’s that we’ve often refused to see. We’ve explained Him away, traded wonder for pride, and worshiped what’s been made instead of the One who made it. That’s the heartache in this verse. God’s glory has been in plain sight, but many have looked past it.
Today is a good day for honest reflection. Not just on the freedom we enjoy in this country, but on the truth that we are accountable to the One who gave us life and breath. His creation calls out, not just with beauty, but with responsibility.
God’s creation reveals His glory, leaving every heart with a choice: ignore or respond, rebel or worship.
Today’s Reflection:
Have you been tuning out the voice of creation? Take a moment to slow down today, look around, and let what you see draw your heart back to God.
Closing Prayer:
Father, You’ve surrounded us with reminders of who You are. Forgive us for the ways we’ve looked past them or grown numb to their beauty. Help us see again with fresh eyes and open hearts. Let this day stir both gratitude and reverence in us. Amen.
