Romans 1:7 NKJV
"To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
Good morning, friends.
As Paul greets the believers in Rome, he reminds them—and us—of who we truly are in Christ. We are beloved of God and called to be saints. That isn’t a title earned through achievement or spiritual résumé; it’s a designation grounded in God’s love and calling. Before Paul offers any instruction, rebuke, or theological depth, he opens with a blessing of grace and peace, gifts flowing from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ that set the tone for what's ahead.
This greeting isn’t filler; it’s full of meaning. Paul wants the church in Rome to know their identity is anchored in something unshakable: they are loved by God and set apart for His purposes. That’s not just true for first-century believers in Rome; it’s true for you today. You are not forgotten or overlooked, and you don’t need to strive to earn your way into God’s presence, because you can’t. If you belong to Jesus, then you are already His, deeply loved, personally called, fully graced, and securely at peace.
This world may try to define you by your past, your performance, or your pain. But Scripture calls you beloved, a saint, and offers you a peace that the world cannot give.
You are not striving for grace, you are standing in it.
Today’s Reflection:
Let your heart rest in this truth: You are deeply loved by God. You have been called to belong to Him, not as a stranger, but as a saint. Walk through today aware of His grace and open to His peace.
