Romans 1:4-5 NKJV

“…and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name.”

Good morning, friends.

Paul’s introduction to this letter keeps building. Yesterday, we read about how he was called and set apart. But today, he turns our attention fully to Jesus, “declared to be the Son of God with power.” That declaration wasn’t made by human vote or religious consensus. It came through the resurrection. The empty tomb wasn’t just a miracle; it was heaven’s proclamation that Jesus is exactly who He said He is.

That truth becomes the foundation of everything else. Because Jesus was raised in power, we now live under that same power. We’ve received grace and calling, not for status or self-improvement, but “for obedience to the faith.” The resurrection wasn’t just the end of His earthly life; it launched our mission.

This “obedience to the faith” is more than rule-keeping. It’s a life-altering trust in Jesus that shows up in the way we live, love, and serve. It’s an obedience shaped by grace and sustained through it. And it’s not private—it’s for “all nations,” because the resurrection power that raised Christ is strong enough to reach anyone, anywhere.

Because Jesus was raised in power, we are called to live in obedience through grace.

Today’s Reflection:

Is there a part of your life where you’ve been holding back or hesitating to take action? What’s one small step you could take today to put your trust into motion?

Closing Prayer:

Jesus, You were declared to be the Son of God with power, and You are alive today. Help us not just to believe that, but to live from it. Teach us to obey You from the place of grace, and to live in a way that brings honor to Your name in our homes, our work, and our witness. Amen.
